Explore Research Week 9-13

The first 4 weeks we had to make designs that show contrast on our sketchbooks. I have not pictures of my illustrations but I have some of my inspirations. In week 13 it was our deadline so we just finished our sketchbooks.

ALEXANDER MCQUEEN
(and some other separate designs)

JOKER AND HARLEQUIN
(Batman)

ALICE IN WONDERLAND
(and more generally Tim Burton)

SOPOR AETERNUS
(Singer)

SOME CLASSIC SHAPES AND PIECES OF ART IN BAUHAUS STYLE

NATALIE SHAU
(One of the best Artists for me.)

POLKA AND STRIPES

CLOWN STYLE

Explore Research Week 8

The 8Th. Week we hanged several materials with us in the lesson.
We had to make some 3D examples that show
CONTRAST.
I chose calico, a black umbrella fabric, and some pieces of lice and net.
I sewed the front side of a dress two times so that to show two different ways of constructing the same design. Also I made a pattern of fabric that I definitely will use in the future to make a corset.

I STARTED WITH CUTTING TRIANGLE PIECES TO MAKE THE ONE SLEVE AND THEN I LINKED THEM.

FOR THE WHOLE BODY I CUT A SQUARE AND SOME BLACK SPIRAL SHAPED PIECES THAT COULD BE LINKED AGAIN AS A PUZZLE. I USED ONLY FOUR OF THEM. IN THE END I CUT A BIG TRIANGLE AND MADE A PIECE OF SKIRT ON THE ONE SIDE OF THE DRESS

BACK SIDE

THIS IS THE SECOND SAMPLE
I CHOSE TO MAKE A DIFFERENT AND MORE EXTREME NECK.
THE PIECE OF THE SKIRT IS MADE OF MANY LITTLE PIECES LINKED TOGETHER.
AND THE BLACK SPIRAL SHAPED PIECES (THE 4 LEFT FROM THE PREVIOUS SAMPLE) ARE LINKED ON THE BODY WITH A SPIRAL LINE.
THE SLEVE IS MADE OF A BIG PIECE OF FABRIC THAT IS SUPPOSED TO BE SEPARATE FROM THE WHOLE AND USED AS A DECOR ON THE DRESS.

HERE THERE ARE THE TWO SAMPLES TOGETHER

THIS IS AN AMAZING AND VERY USEFUL PIECE OF FABRIC.
I ADORE THE PATTERN.

Explore Research 7

On week 7, we experimented with patterns. Each group had an example of clothing and we had to make one hand sewed and one machine sewed. Our group chose to make two of fabric and one made of paper. So we were set in two teams. Two girls made the and made. And me and two more girls made the machine sewed and the paper expample.

THIS IS THE SAMPLE

FIRST WE DRAWED THE READY PATTERNS ON THICK PAPERS SO WE MADE OUR OWN.

THEN WE CUT THE PAPERS WHERE IT WAS NECESSARY

AFTER THAT WE LINKED THE NEW PATTERNS WTH THE FABRICS.

ON THE NEXT STEP WE CUT THE FABRICS AND WE WERE READY TO SEW THEM!

THIS WAS THE PART THAT I MADE ON THE SEWING MACHINE.

THE FINALS WERE AMAZING AND BETTER THAN WHAT WE THOUGHT
